Remote Education

Should we have to close the whole school once again, or a specific class / year group, we will use Google Classroom as the platform for our digital remote education offer.

'Remote Education’ is an umbrella term describing any learning that happens outside the classroom, without the class teacher present.

Our model is mainly asynchronous. This means that lesson content and resources are pre-prepared and/or recorded by the teachers and uploaded daily to Google Classroom. These lessons can then be accessed at different times throughout the day, which will allow the children flexibility to share devices and work at times that suit the family day.

We will ensure that there are some daily synchronous (live) features, such as the daily class meeting, story time sessions, 'live' feedback in the form of individual written notes or recorded sound files to the children, the use of chat and jamboard features, etc.

Please click on the attachments below for further information and help guides. We have also put together some additional resources to help support at home, which can be found within the individual tabs.

If you or your child has any concerns about your child's online safety, you can report your concern to the school by calling the office (01784 432155) on weekdays between 8.30am and 3.30pm and asking to speak to the DSL on duty.
